Insurance is confusing. We can help.
Coverage & Care Details
-
To verify coverage, we recommend calling the number on the back of your insurance card and asking about your benefits for individual psychotherapy.
Use the following CPT codes when inquiring:
90791 (initial intake session)
90837 (ongoing 53+ minute therapy sessions)
You may also want to ask:
What’s my annual deductible, and how much of it has been met?
What’s my out of pocket maximum?
What is my copay or coinsurance per session?
Is prior authorization required?
Is telehealth covered?
-
If we're not in-network with your plan, you may still be able to use out-of-network (OON) benefits to receive partial reimbursement.
Start by calling your insurance provider and asking:
Do I have out-of-network mental health coverage?
What percentage is reimbursed for CPT codes 90791 (intake) and 90837 (ongoing therapy)?
Is there an OON deductible I need to meet first?
Do I need any prior authorization?
We’ll provide a monthly superbill that includes everything you need to submit for reimbursement. Payment is due at the time of service, and reimbursement goes directly to you.
-
Some clients prefer not to use insurance for privacy, flexibility, or personal reasons. You’re welcome to self-pay for sessions at the rates listed above. Payment is due at the time of service, and we accept major credit cards, cash, check and HSA/FSA accounts.
-
We believe therapy should be accessible, not gatekept by income or insurance. A limited number of sliding scale or pro bono slots are available for those who are uninsured, underinsured, or experiencing financial hardship. Reach out to inquire. No explanation required.
-
We are in-network with the following:
Aetna PPO
Aetna Student Health
BCBS PPO
Blue Choice Plans
Northwestern University Student Health Insurance
-
We are out-of-network with all other major insurances (e.g. Cigna, Humana, Magellan Tricare). Note, we can provide you with a Superbill and instructions to seek reimbursement.
We also cannot work with clients who have Medicaid or Medicare.
